This intentional community is planned to be a development of private apartments and townhouses clustered around shared spaces. Community members will come from different backgrounds and be in different stages of life. We will be united by the commitment to create a neighborly community and a shared set of values that we will collectively agree upon. Right now, we plan for this to be a cohousing community but final details will be determined once we identify the core group that will launch the project.
Everyone has their own unique reasons. To name a few: it feels good to be in community, build strong relationships with those around you, and live in alignment with your values. It is nice to know the names of the people you see every day and to know that you will be there for one another—each person offering what they can and accepting help when needed. Another reason is the rising cost of single family homes. Spreading property and maintenance costs across a larger group lessens the burden on each individual household.
